The Destroyer
2 Corinthians 11:3 “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ”. Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? The evil one, satan changed the LORD’S words to suit his deception, he lied. “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: 5For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil”.
A Deceiver
The evil one, satan, is a deceiver, John 8:44b; “He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it”.
He called God a liar! He was telling Eve that God was holding back on them. That He did not want their best interest. If they ate of the “tree of knowledge of good and evil” they would be just like the LORD.
That was the hook, he put the bait before her, got her attention on his words and her eyes off the LORD, then he sunk the hook. His deception had worked and is still working today.
And With it…Death!
Sin came into the world, and with sin comes death and slavery and the world has been afflicted with it ever since. Death comes upon us all. Diseases of all types, pandemic’s also. They are all part of the curse on mankind and brought in by deception, self will and disobedience to the will of the LORD. The evil one’s plan worked and the world has been listening lies ever since.
Conflicting Statements
Today we find ourselves with words all around us. Conflicting statements, lies, and deceit all around us. We need discernment in our lives, in what we believe and what we don’t believe. For satan is cunning and so are his disciples. They like him wrap themselves in lies of light, making themselves look live saviors to the world. What is right. Is abortion right, is the new LBG lifestyle or homosexual lifestyle, or any destructive lifestyle the truth or are they a lie?
Truth and Error
There is only one place to discern between truth and error for today. It is the same source that has been used throughout history. It is mocked and ridiculed as outdated, bigoted and hateful. But hasn’t truth always been called that by those who are liars and deceivers. The Truth is “God’s Word”, it’s not in God’s Word, but is God’s Word. The difference between these two statements is; if the truth is “in God’s Word”, then we are the ones who decide truth from lies and deceit. It it is God’s Word, then the LORD is the one who tells us what truth is.

If you want to base your life on truth, that is the place to Go. If you don’t care about truth, then let the world and it’s deceivers lead you to a life of destruction! Build your life upon the rock (the Word of God) and when the storms of time come you will be able to stand.
The Key to Understanding
What is a key to understanding Spiritual deception. It comes down to OUR WILL. Why do I say that? How many times do we choose what WE WANT to believe. Do we want to believe or even know truth. Many times truth is completely opposite of what our will is or what we believe. That is why it is so important to study truth “God’s Word” and allow our will to follow the LORD’S will. Our lives and our future, and the future of this country depend on our will desiring truth, knowing truth, and following truth. LORD help us all to follow your ways and your truth each day of our lives!
