Intercessory Prayer
“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”.
Eph. 6:18
Give Thanks
I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;” I Timothy 2:1-3.
Pray without ceasing!
Who can pray without ceasing? How can we continually pray with the cares and troubles of daily life? “How can the eyelid without ceasing protect the eye? How can I breathe and feel and hear without ceasing? Because all of these are functions of a normal healthy life. If the spiritual life is healthy and under the full control and power of the Holy Spirit, praying without ceasing will come naturally.”
We are Set Free!
Our death with Christ sets us free from the care of self and elevates us to the dignity of intercessor—one who can receive life and blessing from God for others. How can we learn it? The best way to learn anything is simply to do it. Begin by setting apart some time every day, even ten or fifteen minutes, in which you say to God that you have come to Him as an intercessor for others.
A few minutes each day!
If at first you do not feel any special urgency or faith or power in your prayers, don’t let that hinder you either. Quietly tell the Lord your thoughts; believe that the Holy Spirit is in you to teach you to pray; be assured that if you begin, God will help you. God cannot help you unless you begin and keep at it. Take a few minutes each day to listen to God’s voice, reminding you of how certainly you will be heard, and calling you to pray in that faith in your Father, to claim and take the blessings you have pleaded for.
Intercessory Prayer
Let these words about how to pray enter your hearts and occupy your thoughts at other times too. The work of intercession is Christ’s great work on earth, entrusted to Him because He gave Himself a sacrifice to God for men. The work of intercession is the greatest work a Christian can do. Give yourself as a sacrifice to God for men, and the work will become your greatest joy. Andrew Murry
A. W. Tozer
“The Ministry of Intercessory Prayer God is always greater than anything that can be said about Him. No language is worthy of Him. He is more sublime than all sublimity, loftier than all loftiness, more profound than all profundity, more splendid than all splendor, more powerful than all power, more truthful than all truth. Greater than all majesty, more merciful than all mercy, more just than all justice, more pitiful than all pity. Nothing anybody can say about Him is enough. A.W. Tozer
Eph. 1:17
“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him:” Eph. 1:17
Proper Value
Everything in our life finds proper value once we have properly valued Him. We take time for what we value. And we behold what we love. It is not the duty of beholding that changes us, though, but rather the beauty of the one we behold. Ken Cire.
Be Faithful
We are told in Luke 18:1 to be faithful in our prayer life and to never get discouraged or forgetful and give up our prayer life. (For Prayer is hard work and a spiritual combat) *May the Lord fill each of us with the knowledge of His will for our lives along with the wisdom and spiritual under-standing and zeal to do this will, in the way we live our lives, and may it be pleasing in His sight. *in order that we may be fruitful as we live our lives before Him while doing His will. *and may the Lord increase our knowledge of Him and His will for us through study of His word and prayer. *that our inner man may be strengthened through the knowlege which God’s word brings. *at the same time bringing every thought and action into obedience to Christ. *having thankful hearts unto our God and the Father of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.*as we eagerly await His soon return.
Isaiah 40:31 and Ps. 37:7 and Matt. 9:38
”But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
“Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.” Psalm 37:7
Let us pray that “… the LORD of the harvest, will send out workers into his harvest field.” Matthew 9:38.
It is estimated that one soul goes into eternity every 11 seconds, that’s 2,866,900 individuals step into eternity every year. Also one new soul enters earthly life every 8 seconds, that’s 3,942,000 in the United States according to the U.S. Population Census. Let us pray that those who leave this earth had placed their faith and trust in Christ and that those being born will give their hearts and lives unto Him.
“Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.” –Philippians 1:6
