Prayer…is it important for believers?
If it is important, How important is it? So what does the LORD mean when He tells us to pray Always? We are told in Scripture to pray without ceasing. To pray always. Seems almost impossible to pray all the time, I mean we have other things that we need to do don’t we? R. A. Torrey states: Why is this constant, persistent, sleepless, overcoming prayer so necessary?
Because there is a devil! He is cunning; he is mighty; he never rests; he is continually plotting the downfall of the child of God. If the child of God relaxes in prayer, the devil will succeed in ensnaring him. Ephesians 6:12;For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual; wickedness in high places.
If our LORD Jesus Christ relied on prayer, then who are we to think it is not necessary to live a fruitful life that is pleasing to our LORD without a prayer life. Without constant, persistent prayer our lives will soon turn to shambles. In prayer, for believers, we are talking to our Father in Heaven. We are actually appearing before the Great Soverign of Heaven and Earth, the LORD of LORDS and King of Kings. We have an immediate access before Him, into the throne room of the most powerful potente in all the universe. Try that with one of the world leaders or important people of earth. They will laugh at you but the LORD will always hear and answer prayers.
He will not always answer our prayers the way we want them to be answered or in the time we want them answered, but they will be answered; and the LORDS answer will be for our good and to bring glory to His name! Trust in the LORD with all your heart, lean not onto your own understanding, but place your trust and faith in Him, for He knows best and has the best in store for all of His children. Call upon the LORD while He may be found!
Those who place their faith in the LORD Jesus Christ and what He did at the cross of Calvary, where He paid for the sins of the entire world, will be saved, and will spend eternity with Him. Those who reject His call, and His salvation, which was made possible for all of mankind, will spend eternity in the Lake of Fire, Forever— and Forever!
So where will you spend eternity? Heaven or Hell?
